“All is strictly interrelated on this planet. Each detail holds the child’s interest by reason of its strict relation to the others. We may compare it to a tapestry: each detail is a piece of embroidery; but the whole constitutes a magnificent cloth.”
~Maria Montessori

ABOUT AMI EAA

  • AMI-EAA, a member-run professional association of AMI elementary teachers and trainers, provides a supportive community for the exchange of ideas and promotes the principles of Montessori education.
  • All members hold an elementary diploma issued by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).
  • Through continuing education and on-going dialogue, both new and experienced teachers deepen their understanding and enrich their practice of the art of Montessori.
  • As an AMI-affiliated organization, we collaborate with and support AMI, AMI-USA, AMI elementary training centers, and the North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA).

Why Join Us?

  • AMI elementary teachers are a dynamic contingent within the Montessori community. A special esprit de corps exists among the members, who develop lasting friendships and share common teaching goals.
  • The more people like you who join AMI-EAA, the greater will be the collective wisdom and experience of this group.
  • Begun as a grassroots organization in 1970 and formally incorporated in 1980 as the AMI Elementary Alumni Association, we continue to grow and evolve.
  • From our membership, a five-member Executive Board is elected every two years.
  • We select AMI elementary teacher-trainers to serve as our pedagogical consultants.
