School Name: Wildflower Schools

Start Date: 08/01/2019

Are you a Montessori leader with a thirst for social justice and an entrepreneurial drive?

An Invitation to Grow Wildflower Montessori Public Charter Schools in Haverhill, Massachusetts as a Founding Teacher Leader:

We are currently seeking innovative, equity-minded, entrepreneurial Elementary trained Montessori teachers to start and lead a small-scale Montessori public elementary community in Haverhill, MA. We are a network of micro-schools that aim to serve racially and socioeconomically diverse communities with exceptional authentic Montessori education, in alignment with Wildflower’s nine principles. You will have individualized support from the Wildflower Schools support team in Massachusetts, and will join a local community of fellow Montessori teacher innovators.

Our Schools
Wildflower schools are very small — in the context of a Charter, this will be a group of one room schools that together hold a Charter. They are committed to equity, and unite intentionally diverse communities of children, families and teachers in a shared pursuit of inter-connectedness, justice and peace. Wildflower schools are Montessori schools with certified teachers who embrace the qualities of authentic Montessori education – mixed ages, the full complement of materials for each age group, and a child-led, individualized approach within a beautiful, peaceful environment.

While they share values and principles, each Wildflower school is unique, a reflection of the training, life experiences and educational vision of the small team of teachers who lead it. Because Wildflower schools blur the boundary between homeschooling and institutional schooling and between education and the rest of life, Wildflower teacher-leaders have extraordinary autonomy to extend the prepared environment in any direction to serve the needs of families, children and educators. Embedded within this beautiful diversity of experiences and perspectives, there are nine principles that unite our schools.

What Will You Do?
As a Teacher Leader you will:
*Learn about the Wildflower model, develop detailed school plans, and bring your school to life through our supported School Startup Journey
*Collaborate with 1-2 other teacher-leaders to develop a vision for an authentic Montessori elementary school or work within an existing team that serves the diversity of the local community.
*With the support of the local and national Wildflower teams, find and prepare a school site – this generally involves identifying, leasing and renovating shop front space
*Design and create a prepared Montessori environment in alignment with your vision and local charter regulations
*Actively market your school to recruit and enroll a racially and socioeconomically diverse mix of children and families
*Participate in the shared governance of the Massachusetts Wildflower Charter School – the legal structure that supports many Massachusetts Wildflower schools and will enable the Wildflower elementary to be completely free to all families

What Qualifications Will you Bring?
