Little Oak Montessori School seeks an AMI-trained elementary guide for our well-established elementary classroom for the 2021-2022 school year. Come join our dedicated staff and vibrant community in the Columbia River Gorge.
Little Oak is located in White Salmon, Washington, a ten minute drive from Hood River, Oregon and one hour from Portland, Oregon. The Gorge is known for world-class outdoor recreation, abundant local organic produce and majestic Pacific Northwest beauty.
Ideal candidates will have AMI certification at the elementary level and a Bachelor’s degree. Preferred candidates will have a Washington State teaching certificate (or be eligible to obtain certification) and a Master’s Degree. Both recent graduates and experienced Montessori educators are encouraged to apply.
Little Oak provides fully implemented AMI Montessori education for children 6 through 12 years of age. We seek an organized, warm, flexible guide who can effectively run an elementary classroom according to the Montessori Method.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to understand and work with students having a range of learning styles. They will be able to communicate effectively and professionally with parents, students, and staff. Professionalism, a positive attitude, and sensitivity to confidentiality are essential characteristics for the ideal candidate.
Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience and competitive with independent schools in the area. Range: $46,000-$53,000 DOE
