Acton Academy at Serenbe is nestled in the beautiful hamlet of Serenbe located in Chattahoochee Hills GA.

We are searching for
Primary Guide ages 3 to 6

We require:
AMI or AMS 3-6 certification
High School diploma or GED required along with 2+ years of college with at least a 2.5 GPA (Degree in ECE preferred).
Meets minimum preparation and experience required for certification as an Early Childhood Education Teacher.
Complies with all state education and licensing standards and maintains validation of credentials for the position (i.e. Professional development).
Experience in a Primary/Elementary Montessori classroom as a lead teacher.
Experience in lesson planning.
Strong organizational skills.
Fingerprint clearance
2 years Montessori classroom experience
Has a deep respect for the genius in every child
Communicates effectively, orally, and in writing
Works hard and learns quickly

Job Duties:
Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress portfolios for all students assigned.
Self-Discipline and timeliness
A passion for working with young children.
Actively participates in on-going professional development
Help drive momentum and excitement for the work
In meetings with each student and their parents, help establish learning goals, track and communicate progress, and facilitate adjustments as needed.
Delegate (with appropriate guard rails) the responsibility for the classroom and learning to students, so that students learn to lead themselves.
Guide children as they develop their individual and group self-governance skills
Practice the Socratic method at all times, asking questions instead of answering them.
Facilitate Socratic group discussions, in a manner that instills enthusiasm in the students.
Encourage students to make their best efforts in everything they do.
Help create exhibitions, ceremonies, and celebrations documenting students’ progress.
